This letter serves as a letter of recommendation for Sara Carstens.
I have known Sara Carstens professionally for 20 years when I first hired her interior design consulting business to restyle a newly purchased historic home located on the lakes in Wayzata, Minnesota. I have since hired Sara for two very extensive design and renovation projects for the same home that took place in the past three years. Both won design awards, first and second place in Midwest Homes. An adjoining guesthouse was gutted and redesigned by her as well. I also continuously utilize Sara for design advice and purchases.
In the past, my husband and I have redesigned and renovated five homes using professional consultants. Sara, by far, has been the most responsive, creative, professional, honest, innovative and smart specialist I have worked with. Sara listened carefully to our style and design preferences and the final result has been a home that we love – a beautiful, practical and very livable residence.
Another strength is Sara’s ability to work seamlessly with contractors and multiple team members one requires with complicated projects. Sara is also strong with time constraints and deadlines.

A kitchen project is as challenging as everyone says it’s going to be, so a designer like Sara is important. She came recommended by our contractor and what a good recommendation it turned out to be. Sara listens to requests, makes recommendations without being overbearing, and kindly offers suggestions when needed. Our family did a complete Main level remodel and were refererd to Adler-Allyn as a designer for the project. The biggest part of the project was a kitchen remodel that needed to stay within the confines of the present kitchen, but with the help of Sara Carstens we were able to open up the kitchen and an adjoining room by removing a wall and changing the configuration of the kitchen, we love the new kitchen and the fact that it is also more user-friendly. We will use this company again in the future when we do the Master suite area.
